My Educational Philosophy:

My educational philosophy is rooted in the main concept of Progressivism. Progressivism in action to me means that I as a teacher should help to guide the students through their development of critical thinking skills. One method I as a teacher can utilize to do this is questioning my students as well as creating practical activities, guiding the students through problem solving and showing them how this is relevant to their lives outside of the classroom.

Mission Statement:

My goal is to create a community of empowered learners that are encouraged to grow in an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust, and appreciation of diversity. Every student will be inspired and challenged to learn, grow, and accomplish academic and social goals within my classroom.

Statement on Diversity:

Diversity provides our students with an appreciation for the richness of human culture, encouraging the examination of different ways of thinking about problems and different ways of understanding the world. Within my classroom, I work to encourage diversity and tolerance as a means to help students learn and grow.
